Samira is built on the western coast of Yuanen at the northern end of the Faulan mountains. The city has a sprawling port which primarily serves the anti-piracy fleet comprised of ships from Yuanen and Fiadh. The port also serves as a stopping point in trade routes heading south to Fiadh and north to Naer and around the penninsula to Kaze

The city is built into the sloping foothills of the trailing edge of the Faulan Mountains. Strong winds flow over the grass covered foothills, catching the top edges of large windmills that capture the energy of the passing winds. The city's “structures” are made from posts and canvas. The canvas's white color and prominent location make the city easy to spot from the bow of a ship, and give the city itself the appearance of a large sailing ship. The windmills direct a small portion of the passing winds down through the city, which is used to easily shift parts of the canvas structures in the city to track with the sun, or simply to reconfigure spaces to accomodate the moment

The plains to the east of the city are well known for a flowering plant which consists of white blossoms attached to long vines which gently flow in the steady winds that blanket the grassy plains. The plants grown on the leeward side of the stones that dot the plains. These flowering vines are planted throughout the city for decoration and to attract bees
