History

Kalmar was an ancient kingdom formed during the Birth of Nations in the Terran Stone Age. It occupied the southern portion of present day Yuanen, what is now the Pikwata desert. Kalmar joined into the Jhan'Ahkha'tar alliance with the four kingdoms, and sided with Hito and Sehti in the civil war against the Jhenee. After the war, the three allied kingdoms formed a new empire, Sehti'Ahkha'tar

Kalmar became an ambitious and warlike kingdom after the civil war, though it new it could not defeat its neighbors, and thus set its sights across the Sliabh mountains toward Tael'Reshk, whom it believed was weak and would fall easily. Kalmar gained significant territory in southern Tael'Reshk, but was unable to extend its armies far enough to completely conquer the kingdom. The new territory helped Kalmar grow stronger, and it used this power to assert dominance over its allies. This resulted in a civil war between the provinces of Sehti and Kalmar, which ended up breaking up the empire back into three nations

This split would be relatively short, as Sehti, now Sehti'taal, and Kalmar feared invasion from east. When Kalmar's beloved king was assassinated by an unknown entity, Kalmar reacted violently and engaged eastern kingdoms in war, and Sehti'taal joined into the war on Kalmar's side. Kalmar battled Khan'laheeri and was simultaneously colonizing Gael, battling the Akkau for control over the new continent. Kalmar was able to conquer the entire continent

The success on the southern continent would not last, as the new territories would be lost to indigenous peoples that had been waiting for the war between Kalmar and Akkaus to weaken the invading forces. Kalmar would lose all its territory to this new force. Kalmar would also lose its territory in Tael'Reshk on the eastern side of the Sliabh mountains. These defeats left Kalmar vulnerable, and they formed a new kingdom with Sehti'taal, and it was named Jhua'nen. Kalmar, remained a critical province in that empire, but never again gained autonomy as a kingdom or a nation
