Huang is situated where the Muilean river flows down from the Richu mountains and meets the Kachua bay. Huang was founded as a result of the general peace and prosperity enjoyed by Yuanen in the First Age. As Yuanen expanded, so to did its mining operations, especially in the Richu mountains where Carragh were less common and more tolerant of industrial activity. As mining efforts grew, Huang grew from a mining outpost to a thriving city. Eventually, mining operations would expand drastically and a vast network of tunnels was carved throughout the mountain range. Gioh was also founded as an outpost, eventually becoming a sister city to Huang, connected by the Muilean River

Huang itself sprawls away from the coast on both sides of the Muilean River, the two sides connected by a series of stone bridgeworks. The minerals and products from the mountain flow down into Huang on the river, received into canal ports cut into the land on either side of the river. The goods are transported to the ocean ports via stone carts and Petramancy. The coastline is mostly marsh and unsuitable as a port. The ocean port rests on large stone cubes brought down the river from the mines above

Huang is a bustling and friendly city, and the residents have an independent spirit which often puts them at odds with the rest of mainland Yuanen
