Deep in the endless sand dunes of the Kanawehi desert lies the oasis city of Hauma. Large willow trees shroud the oasis waters from the burning sun and harsh conditions of the desert. The city's inhabitants are a mixture of Humans and Baumeni, guardians that have watched over the city's delicate ecosystem for millenia

The cities buildings are made of sandstone, earth, and crawling vines. Most of the structures in the city are hundreds of years old, and also restorations or replacements of the structures that came before. The city's layout and buildings were carefully designed to protect and support the oases' ecosystem. The architecture favors sweeping, curved lines, and round shapes that conform to the natural cut of the terrain

The oasis provides the city with its staple crop, a species of mushrooms called “Haumami”, that grow in the shallow waters of the oasis pools. These fungi have a quick growth cycle and a savory taste that is unique among fungi. The oasis is the only place that these mushrooms can be found, hence their name

The city serves as an important way point for caravans crossing the desert. All visitors are welcome within the oasis, though violence is not tolerated within the oasis and offenders are promptly expelled from the city. There are rumors that egregious violence has been punished by burial up to the neck in the sands outside the oasis
