Day 5

Description Our players continued to explore the ancient temple. The room beyond the cat statue is has an altar decorated with the sun and the cycles of the moon. the ceiling has a similar set of moon phase markings. On the floor are troughs of oil which have been lit. The troughs form an “X” mark, with its center in the middle of the room, where the altar sits.

To the left is a room with ten pillars, five on the left and five on the right, in varying condition. At the end of the room is an unmarked altar. This room has no carvings.

To the right is a staircase inside a tunnel, which heads mostly straight down. Many flights of stairs down the players found a storage room, with bundles wrapped in cloth, which the players stowed in their bags. Further down the stairs they found a city with about 15 buildings and several ports. Off the edge is only darkness. Dropped stones return no sound.

After returning to the top of the stairs, the players felt a warm breeze. Nalan jumped down, descending to the port and then further down. He could not see the edges, anything below, or above. After some time he reached a floor covered in technical looking runes. He found an old ship with many barrels and a chest full of gold and silver coin. He took 750 gold worth of coin with him. He discovered a white powder like substance which burns with a white flame. He set a barrel of this on fire. It exploded, and he barely managed to escape, using the blast's air to propel him back up to the top of the stairs.

The group spent some time trying to figure out where the treasure might be, but we stopped the session before finding it.
