When that kingdom was destroyed by Jhua'nen in the Blood Wars, the Ulfar scattered, the majority of which adapted to a nomadic lifestyle. Those that didn't settled Kilig. Jhua'nen did not deem the continent suitable for permanent settlements, opting instead to set up temporary camps to capitalize on the region's rich natural resources. Eventually, these camps were abandoned and the territory saw no permanent residents for over two million years In the Third Age, several nations collaborated to send colonists back into these territories to set up new cities in an effort to redistribute population density and to revive the supply of raw resources from the continent. The cultural diversity, combined with the harsher climate, served to forge a new identity among the colonists. The country continued to grow, formally declaring independence and establishing new cities **Timeline** * **57.7M BCE**: Tribunal of Akkaus unites the majority of the Ulfar under one banner * **56.9M BCE**: Akkaus develops shipbuilding * **52.1M BCE**: Akkaus forms first colonies in Aeye * **50.2M BCE**: Akkaus cripples Dearth'Jhaa and occupies the remains of the kingdom * **46.2M BCE**: Akkaus founds its first colony on Craic, near present day Ciaro * **40.9M BCE**: Akkaus invades Khan'Laheeri on the Korahan Coast * **39.3M BCE**: Akkaus conquers the deserts of present day Koraha * **29.7M BCE**: Akkaus founds the first colonies in present day Gael's north eastern coast * **8.4M BCE**: Akkaus declares war on Aru'taal * **4.65M BCE**: Jhua'nen conquers Akkaus, scattering the Ulfar across the northern hemisphere * **1.479M BCE**: Colonists from Reithe and Gerth found the colony of Staen * **1.462M BCE**: A colony in Abhain is founded, Teagh is formally established * **1.439M BCE**: Koraha collaborates with Teagh to establish Crohm * **1.427M BCE**: Colony established in Airge * **1.288M BCE**: The Baumeni collaborate with Teagh on trade and establish Iaran * **0.698M BCE**: Luaidhe established within Teagh * **0.401M BCE**: Uhma established within Teagh * **200 CE**: Mearcair established within Teagh \\ ==== Government and laws ==== Teagh is only a nation in the loosest of terms, consisting of completely autonomous city-states. Each state is led by a minister, which is supported by a cabinet of six members. Each state has a different organization for its cabinet members, as well as varying degrees of balance between the authority of the minister and the cabinet members Ministers are elected once every eight years, while cabinet members are elected every twelve years. Elections are staggered such that a new cabinet member, and possibly a minister, is elected every two years. Every four years a throng is held, at which the ministers and cabinet members gather to discuss interstate and foreign issues Laws are only passed at the state level. The only national laws are the original laws governing the political organization and election of ministers. These national laws may only be changed at a throng, and then only with a majority of votes from every state. All other laws are crafted by the minister with the assistance of the cabinet. Laws can be vetoed with a majority vote by the cabinet \\ ==== Society and culture ==== \\ **Values**\\ The culture of Teagh is surprisingly consistent. The denizens of Teagh put importance on hard work, community, generosity, usefulness, and lawfulness. They have little respect for foreigners and other cultures, valuing their own culture above all others. Teagh is one of the few nations that still functions as an honor society. Violence is used to solve most disputes and infringements on one's honor, ranging from physical challenges to fights to the death **Dress**\\ Clothing in Teagh consists of multiple layers to combat the cold. Shirts and pants are made of wool and dyed in greens and browns, though they are occasionally left undyed. Pants are often clasped by double clasped belts of leather or braided canvas. Knives are worn on the belt by all citizens, even children. Packs slung across one shoulder are common, often with a coil of rope fixed to the strap or to the belt. Long coats made of leather or oiled canvas are worn down to the knee. The insides of the coats are lined with fur or sheepskin Looped scarves are worn in fall and winter, which are dyed black, brown, or grey. The dark color is broken by two stripes with varying combinations of color which have varying meanings depending on the colors chosen. Color combinations vary slightly from state to state and some states have unique combinations. Common combinations are listed below ^Color Combination^Significance^ |Blue and White|Every day colors, winter colors| |Red and White|Worn for luck when starting a journey or a new endeavour| |Green and Blue or Yellow|Spring colors, also worn by young men and women seeking romance| |Orange and Red|Denotes an official position in government| |Blue and Blue|Demonstrates loyalty, support, stability, or a sense of duty| |White and White|Worn in retirement or those unable to work due to injury| |No stripes, all black|Worn at funerals or in times of grieving| |Purple and any color|Worn by suitors, pairing the other color to convey additional meaning| **Appearance**\\ Teaghans have large builds in both genders, and male builds are typically stout. Hair is usually lighter browns, blonds, and reds and often worn in ponytails or braids. Eyes cover the full spectrum of colors. Skin color typically ranges from medium to extremely pale, though medium-dark skin is not uncommon **Food**\\ Food is a simple and straightforward affair in Teagh. A common meal is centered around a stew or pie, such as a shepard's pie or a carrot and lamb stew. Hearty wheat bread is served and eaten with the stew or pie. This is usually accompanied by an applesauce with cinnamon and mint, whichever is available. An apple, plum, or date also accompanies most meals. Alcohol is consumed daily and in liberal amounts. Citizens of Teagh are partial to beer and ales, though a wine made from apples is also common. Though the meals are simple and have little in the way of variety, a great deal of tradition surrounds the meal itself, both in the preparation and consumption. These traditions vary from city to city, and even from family to family Teagh exports very little of its agricultural products and imports even less **Music and Arts**\\ Folk music is ubiquitous, and most citizens play at least one instrument. Stringed instruments are common, including a small cello strong with hair from the Wooly Rhinoceros. Drums and bongos made from wood and animal skins, and bulbous wooden flutes are carved in every shape imaginable. Wood carving and sculpture is also a common artistic endeavor. Oral tradition thrives in the form of songs and stories which are often have accompanying compositions \\ ==== Flora and fauna ==== * fauna#Bear - Within the Itekoa Forest, near the coast, and the Wachigan Forest * fauna#Bumblebee - Found across the Wachigan Forest and the Itekoa Forest * fauna#Cat - Primarily found in and around the cities of Teagh * fauna#Chicken - Found across the Eirin Plains * fauna#Cougar - Found throughout the nation's mountains, forests, and grasslands * fauna#Deer - Throughout the Wachigan Forest * fauna#Eagle - Nest in the southern face of the Miontaile Mountains, and in the surrounding forest * fauna#Falcon - Found across the Eirin Plains * fauna#Firefly - Found throughout the islands off the northern coasts * fauna#Gaelen Blue Jay - Found throughout the Wachigan Forest * fauna#Komodo - Found on the Fialca Islands and Isliu Island * fauna#Lemur - Found in the Itekoa Forest and the Wachigan Forest * fauna#Llama - Found in the Eirin Plains, and in the Rhand Mountains and the Miontaile Mountains * fauna#Northern Raven - Found in the forests and plains of Teagh * fauna#Ostrich - Native to the Eirin Plains, used domestically throughout Teagh * fauna#Rabbit - Found throughout the forests and grasslands of Teagh * fauna#Rhinoceros - Wooly variant found across the Eirin Plains, used domestically throughout Teagh * fauna#River Ferret - Found in the rivers of Teagh * fauna#Sheep - Domestic and wild herds found throughout the Eirin Plains * fauna#Snow Leopard - Found in the higher elevations of the Miontaile Mountains * fauna#Wolf - Found throughout the Wachigan Forest in roaming packs * flora#Bluebells - Found along the southern shores * flora#Giant Redwood - Grows in the Wachigan forest in the foothills of the Miontaile Mountains * flora#Silver Fir - Within the Itekoa Forest and the Wachigan Forest
