Ikate is an ascendant [[ki spirits#Sura]] of Water. Ascending after [[Ebisa]] and [[Gedi]], Ikate is the sixth humanoid to transcend death to become a Sura, and is the youngest Sura of Fire. Ikate is the Sura of longing and devotion, having lost his lover. A powerful couple, his partner ascended before Ikate, but quickly corrupted and became violently unstable. It is unclear whether or not she died, and her body still exists in the [[galaxy:Galactic geography#Kehle Branch]]. Since then, Ikate ascendended and has spent all his time searching for a way to heal her

When appearing to humanoids, Ikate almost exclusively appears as he did before his ascension. He is a young male ignel samakoel with black eyes and red and black skin. He typically manifests with no clothing in keeping with the traditions of his home planet. Very rarely, Ikate will appear as a female pruek samakoel with blue eyes and blue and purple skin, which was the form of lost love
