Ciaro lies on the banks of the [[Dainsear Straight]] at the intersection where it meets the [[Istigh Seas]] and the end of the [[Ular River]]. Often referred to as "The Crossroads of the Northwest", Ciaro is by far the most cosmopolitan of all the cities in [[Naer]]. The cities impressive ports connect the [[Thuaidh Sea]] to the [[Istigh Seas]] and the world beyond. They also ferry goods shipped from the inner continent along the [[Ular River]] for export, and ferry people and goods across the straight to [[Teagh]] where they are taken by caravan to [[Crohm]]

The money brought in by extensive trade and shipping has made the city the wealthiest in Naer, while also establishing it as the most civilized, causing a cultural divide between the city and the rest of the continent
