The city is Terra's most technologically advanced city, the city itself a colossal technological feat {{ :wiki:ceilidh_clocktower.png?396|}} The city is built on five giant plates, organized into concentric rings around the city's center tower. The discs rotate slowly, powered by geothermal power. The city has a system of aqueducts which divert the river, delivering it directly to individual structures within the city Outside the city center lies an area of dense population on the sections of land carved out by the delta. Ceilidh and its surrounding population rely on the agricultural abundance of the grasslands between the city and the Great Mountains \\ ====Population==== Ceilidh's population is mostly human, about 90% of its roughly 140,000 inhabitants. Of these humans, a little over half are native to [[Reithe]]. The remaining 10% of the population consists of Ulfar, Baumeni, and Carragh, in order of population size. Just over half the inhabitants live within the inner walls of Ceilidh, the remainder live outside in the surrounding area, within the outer walls \\ ====The clockwerk==== The mechanisms of Ceilidh's infrastructure can be overwhelming to first time visitors, but after a few days in the city this disorientation fades. There is a stationary center in which the government and civic service structures reside. This center point of the city is also the highest point in the city, and the main tower in the very center is the tallest tower in the city. Around this stationary center are five rings. Each ring moves around the center, either clockwise or counter clockwise. Each ring moves in the opposite direction of each of its neighbors. Each ring is slightly higher than the next ring, the highest ring in the middle and the lowest ring on the edge. Outside the last ring is a stationary wall and, on the ocean side, the ports {{ :wiki:ceilidh_clocktower_close.png?450|}} The two outermost rings move opposite one another and at a speed such that if you were to stand on one point you would circle the city twice in a 24 hour period. The next two rings opposite one another and are faster; stand at one point on these rings and you will circle the city three times in a 24 hour period. The innermost ring moves clockwise and rotates four times every 24 hours On each ring there is a single tower. These towers provide the majority of the housing within the city. The mechanism of the rings causes these towers to completely align in the morning at 6:00 AM, which is generally considered to be the start of the day. The towers align again at 6:00 PM, which signals the end of the day and the beginning of evening activities. The towers align in different configurations throughout the day and night Water is brought up to the central tower and flows downward to the rest of the city. Each ring has an aqueduct on the inside portion of the ring which is fed by channels radiating outward. Similarly, each ring has a series of channels with rollers. Any item which needs to be delivered to the ports may be placed in these channels and will automatically percolate to the ports over the course of the day. Each morning goods are ferried up the central channel while the towers are aligned {{ :wiki:color_map_-_ceilidh.png?nolink|A color map of Ceilidh}}
