+Ilwyn is built on the west bank of the [[Beraek River]], north of [[Ueneg]], its coastal sister city. It is connected by road to Ueneg and [[Refir]]. Stretching up and out of the [[Mahke Forest]] is Ilwyn's most distinctive feature, the large obsidian obelisk at the center of the ruins around which the city is built. The settlement was built during the cultural renaissance to study and protect the ruins, which are among the largest and oldest still intact today
